Step 1: Short Answer. Answer the following questions. Use complete sentences when appropriate.

Question 1: There are three types of debate. What are they and how do they differ from one another? (hint: defining each type of debate can suffice for this question). 

Question 2:  Consider the following motion: “This House believes that collegiate athletes should be paid.” 

  1. What type of debate is this?
  2. If you had a choice, which side would you choose?
  3. What type of statement is this motion?

Step 2: Short form Bibliography. Identify and cite three (3) sources which you believe would help you to argue for your side of the debate identified in question 2. There is no prescription of the type of source you use, you determine the quality and nature of your sources.

Step 3: Citation Summary. Choose one of the sources you identified in step 2. Describe their argument in a maximum of 250 words.
