QEO of world History Directions: in this activity, students will consider the present-day relevance of history.  Students will choose an article from the list provided by your instructor inside this folder depicting a current event.  In several paragraphs (2-3), students will summarize (in their OWN words), the main points from their article selection, and then analyze and explain how their selection can be connected to a past historical event by utilizing their knowledge obtained from this class, class assignments, video clips, and referencing their textbook when necessary.

*Has nothing changed (IE similar to the popular phrase ‘history repeats itself’) or

*Has new information been found (a new discovery or new theory perhaps?) or

*Are things improving today?

Responses should utilize numerous examples (demonstrating critical thinking), be well-written (demonstrating communication skills), and concisely organized (demonstrating planning/organization, and professionalism).  PLEASE NOTE: this is not a research paper.  It should be 2 to 3 paragraphs at the most, and no less than 2 paragraphs.  Tip: providing good examples is key.  *Do not plagiarize!*  Do not copy your material from websites, etc.!  QEO of world History
