Identification of the Issue
- Due to the increased surge of lifespan in elders, it is causing healthcare providers to be in higher demand. An increase in life expectancy implies more individuals will generate and develop acute health illnesses that will require more medical care experts.
- Disruptive innovations or technology has been in place to assist in care and expand quality of life while decreasing healthcare cost, replacing healthcare workers.
- This issue should be addressed to ensure that adequate healthcare and healthcare staff will be able to withstand the life longevity of elders.
Background
- The current status of this issues is not as big of a problem due to many hospitals not exceeding capacity.
- Research has shown that many hospitals will lessen the amount of inpatient care provided and there will be less beds in hospitals. This will allow for more hospital services to be placed in clinics.
- The staff will also have to increase throughout each healthcare facility but due to the expected growth of life longevity and illness increasing, I do believe that disruptive technology will support the nursing and physician shortage.
- Administrators will be required to have an effective plan in place that may include offering residency through the facility or offering online advanced nursing courses.

- Since the number of elders are increasing with illness while also encountering day to day illness, the healthcare to patient ratio is unbalanced.
- Telehealth medicine is a software that has been used to allow physicians to see more patients but not everyone is able to adapt to the newer technology.
- Many nurses are moving away from hospital care causing an increase in turnover rates.
- As this is an issue that will be more problematic in the future due to more elders requiring physician care.
- The population is also expected to grow due to the millennial population populating at a quicker rate.

- There are several limitations within the research of shortage for nurses and physicians. One of the main limitations including possible solutions.
- The solutions that many researchers are presenting are only theoretical.
- There are also limitations in how many patients will react to the new solution to medicine. Of course, the clinical issue is only futuristic and is not the root of all issues in healthcare at the moment but there has to be a plan in place to catch the downfall of healthcare workers.
- Limitations also conclude that there are no long-term solutions for this issue.
Proposed Solutions
- Artificial intelligence is a posed solution, which will result in less contact with an actual physician. It will have many components to produce an accurate diagnosis but will jeopardize face to face contact.
- There are also studies to analyze the ability to hire more foreign healthcare workers and increase residency vacancies.
- Also providing more nursing opportunities online.
- A greater solution researched has been increasing awareness of public health so that everyone is more cognitive of how to decrease some health conditions.
Conclusion
To conclude, there will be a shortage of nurses in physicians in healthcare due to the longevity of elders and their health illnesses. There are possible solutions, but they are all theoretical. Some solutions may include telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and online courses. This is an interesting topic because healthcare is greatly needed but if there aren’t enough healthcare workers to provide care then what will health outcomes look like.

1 John 4:1 state that we must not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Through the analyzation of this scripture we must allow Gods work to be done. Healthcare staff is placed by God so we must allow God to use us to help heel his people. If that means that in healthcare facility, we see a shortage, we must help our teammates to ensure that each patient is properly diagnosed.
