In my company, we implement waterfall method to the majority of applications and projects. The main idea of the waterfall method during the AD&S are to plan and then implement. Our customers tell us what requirement they have and the specific timeline they need the product. Then we start the projects using the waterfall method which includes continuous planning and progress within a defined time period. The entire project starts with the negotiation with stakeholders, including recording, analysis, verification and final approval of a complete set of business requirements. After collecting specific requirements, the team will enter the next phase of project design and detailed planning, implementation and testing.

The waterfall methodology my company is using needs detailed management plan, which includes 5 steps: project design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance. Each phase needs documentation to support the success of implementing AD&S. There are three documentations which are very critical to the whole process.
Risk assessment: it is important to have risk assessment to provide help to organization like decreasing operational risks by identifying and analyzing the risk and then evaluating the risk. Besides, this document will assist in helping safety performance get better and achieving each team’s objects.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): It is an important PM document, which this is used to help manager break work into smaller tasks and make each work approachable.
Quality Management Plan: It is a plan to let everyone understand the quality standard and the importance of the product quality. Project managers will oversee the whole project quality and will assign different team members to help with inspection or check each other’s work.
