Mass General Brigham formerly known as Partners Healthcare is a world-renowned non-profit organization based out of the Greater Boston area in Massachusetts. Mass General Brigham speaks about the evidence-based practice extensively on their website, within the mission, values, and the about us section (Participate in Research | Mass General Brigham, 2021). They currently are conducting 2700 clinical trials and believe research is the driving force that advances medicine by understanding and gaining knowledge to change patients’ lives including those they don’t see through evidence-based research (Mass General Brigham | Integrated Health Care System, 2021). The network is grounded in evidence-based practice from the 2700 clinical trials that are conducted to seeking volunteers to participate in upcoming studies. Since I live in the Boston area, I knew Mass General Brigham is one of the best networks in the nation with cutting-edge technology and innovative medical treatments. The information I discovered on the website provided me with more insight into the number of studies that are conducted annually, how to participate in them, how the data is analyzed, and implemented into patient care. My perspective has not changed regarding the health network, in fact, it deepened my respect for the organization and the contributions they have made to our healthcare landscape.

During the past few years, nursing care has transitioned towards data provided by evidence-based research. Healthcare organizations use evidence-based practice to improve and provide the best quality patient care. The nursing profession has been a leader in adopting evidence-based practice and using it as a marker of excellence and provide quality care with positive patient outcomes in health care organizations (Melnyk, 2018). I have decided to focus on the American Association for Nurse practitioners (AANP). I became a member of the American Association for Nurse Practitioners (AANP) two months ago. This organization helps to empower NPs and NPs student to advance quality of care through research, education, advocacy, and leadership (American Association of Nurse Practitioners, 2021). Evidence-based practice allows health care providers to use research findings in clinical practice. The work of the AANP is founded on Evidence-based practice, not on professional experience or personal stories. For example, the AANP provides updates and alerts from the latest technology, research, and trends. Being a member of such organization gives me access to endless journals and publications, reviews, mentorship opportunities, and education. Furthermore, the organization offers various ways to participate in or conduct research, and members can join the AANP network for research.  In other words, my membership helps me stay up to date with the latest research and clinical practice to transform patient care.
