Brainstorming Activity 4: Using Sources

 

  • Brainstorming Activity  Write your thesis for Response Essay 4 and 1-3 supporting points below.

  • Take ten minutes searching for articles that may help you “prove” your thesis. Narrow your search to 1-2 articles. Write the author and title of each source below, followed by a 1- to 2-sentence summary of the source.

Identify 1-2 points in each of the sources you listed above that you believe will help you support your thesis. Keep quotes shorter than 40 consecutive words. (Avoid block quotes.) Paraphrase whenever possible. Write down each quote/paraphrase, integrate it using speech tags, and cite in-text according to MLA guidelines.
