Ethics in research is essential to protect human subjects. There have been many cases where researchers were not ethical in their methods. The lack of ethics in research has resulted in the current Institutional Review Board (IRB) process and various forms of legislation generated over the years. For this project you are to research one of the following ethical cases involving research:
Henrietta Lacks
Tuskegee Syphilis experiment
Moore v. Regents of the University of California
The Monster Study
You are to create an audio file providing a summary of the ethical case that is approximately 5 minutes. Identify if the patient population affected was a person or group who fall within the category of vulnerable subjects. Why or why not? Discuss if any legislation occurred as a direct result of this case. Describe how the researcher(s) violated the subjects’ rights in regards some or all of the five human rights in research. Describe any benefits to society that may have occurred due to this unethical research. Provide your opinion on the current requirements for human research. Please use a minimum of two APA references attached as a separate file and in addition include a script for your presentation
